🛑 Special Drive Launched for Caste Certificate Verification in Raigad Ahead of Professional Course Admissions

In a bid to ensure that students from backward classes pursuing higher education in science and technical fields receive timely caste validity certificates, a special verification drive has been launched in Raigad district. This initiative is being carried out by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance, marking the birth anniversary of Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj.

According to Jayant Chacharkar, Deputy Commissioner and Member of the District Caste Certificate Verification Committee, the drive will continue until July 4, 2025.

The campaign primarily targets students currently studying in Class 11 and 12 (Science stream) as well as those pursuing engineering diplomas, who intend to apply for professional courses. Due to delays in obtaining caste validity certificates, many backward-class students miss out on admissions to professional courses — a gap this campaign aims to close.

Students who have not yet applied for caste validity certificates are urged to submit their applications to the verification committee of the district from which their original caste certificate was issued. Those who have applied before May 31, 2025, but have not yet received their certificates must visit the committee office in person to rectify any deficiencies by July 4, 2025.
