An Ocean of Innovation and Technology at Mumbai’s WAVES Conference

Mumbai, April 25: The Government of India, in collaboration with the Maharashtra Government, is hosting the global audio-visual and entertainment industry event — the ‘WAVES 2025 Conference’ — at the Jio World Centre in BKC, Mumbai. Scheduled from May 1 to May 4, 2025, the conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Industries Minister Uday Samant in attendance.

The conference will witness participation from ministers, policymakers, industrialists, and CEOs from around the world.

More than 100 countries are expected to participate in WAVES 2025. The conference aims to significantly boost India’s creative economy. With India’s media and entertainment industry growing rapidly, the sector is opening up vast opportunities for employment generation. Furthermore, India is making significant strides in OTT platforms, animation, gaming, VFX, cinema, music, and digital media. Against this backdrop, WAVES 2025 is set to serve as a major catalyst, featuring panel discussions, investment opportunities, and a range of curated events.

On the first day of the conference, the ‘India and Maharashtra Pavilion’ and the WAVES exhibition will be inaugurated, accompanied by several key announcements and the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). The day will also mark the launch of ‘Creatosphere’, ‘WAVES Bazaar’, and the ‘WAVES Accelerator’ programs.

The second day will feature a Global Media Dialogue, a special CEO interaction session with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and the final round of the ‘Create in India Challenges’.

On the third and fourth days, a series of panel discussions and exhibitions will continue to showcase innovation, technology, and collaboration opportunities across the global creative sector.
