The Department of Social Justice has initiated the admission process for free residential facilities at the Government Girls’ Hostel in Alibag for the academic year 2025–26. The hostel is located at Divya Apartment, opposite Yamaha Showroom, RCF Gate, Veshvi, Alibag.
This state-run facility is aimed at students from marginalized communities, including Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Vimukta Jatis, Nomadic Tribes (VJNT), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Special Backward Classes (SBC), the Economically Weaker Section (EWS), orphans, and students with disabilities. Admissions are granted on merit to girls who have passed at least Class 8.
The hostel provides free lodging and nutritious meals that include breakfast items like poha, sheera, or upma, two boiled eggs, a seasonal fruit, and milk. Main meals are served daily and include dal, rice, chapati, vegetables, pickle, papad, and non-vegetarian food twice a week.
Students also receive free notebooks, textbooks, stationery, and a monthly stipend of ₹600 to cover personal expenses. Additionally, eligible students are given financial support for two school uniforms, raincoats, and umbrellas. The hostel offers access to computer labs, a library, sports gear, and recreational amenities.
To be eligible, the total annual income of the parents must not exceed ₹2.5 lakh for SC/ST students and ₹1 lakh for VJNT, OBC, SBC, and EWS applicants.
Applicants must submit an offline application form along with notarized copies of the following documents:
- Income certificate (FY 2025–26) issued by the Tehsildar
- Caste certificate issued by the competent authority
- Marksheet of the last class passed
- Aadhaar card
- Bonafide certificate from current school/college

The Government School for the Hearing Impaired, located in Vidyanagar, Alibag, is now accepting free admissions for boys and girls aged 6 to 16 years from Raigad district and the larger Konkan region.
Managed by the Zilla Parishad’s Department of Social Welfare, the school provides free education from Classes 1 to 4 along with residential facilities. Enrolled students receive free meals, notebooks, textbooks, and essential educational supplies.
