Students should actively engage with teachers and aim to gain comprehensive knowledge in all subjects including arts, sports, literature, and culture,” said Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

A School Reopening Ceremony for the academic year 2025–26 was organized at the Primary Zilla Parishad School in Kodoli, Satara Taluka, where Mr. Shinde addressed the gathering. Abdul Kalam, President Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who were educated in government schools.

The government is emphasizing joyful learning and reducing the burden of schoolbags. The “My School – Ideal School” initiative, originally implemented in Satara, is now being replicated across the state. Various schemes have been introduced, such as reducing academic pressure, promoting enjoyable education, and offering free higher education to girls.

Referring to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s call to “Educate, Agitate, Organize,” he emphasized the importance of ensuring competitive and high-quality education for students in rural schools as well.
