The Sub-Regional Transport Office (RTO) at Pen has launched a new registration series — MH06CT — specifically for two-wheelers. Interested applicants who wish to reserve attractive or preferred registration numbers are invited to apply with the prescribed documents and fees, announced Sub-Regional Transport Officer Mahesh Devkat
Applicants seeking special numbers for private four-wheelers can also apply by submitting their forms on June 30, 2025, between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM at the Pen RTO. Along with the application, they must submit a Demand Draft (DD) for three times the standard fee, along with attested copies of address proof, identity card, and PAN card.
If multiple applications are received for the same number, a list of such numbers will be published on the RTO’s notice board at 4:00 PM on June 30, 2025. Applicants will then have the opportunity to submit a sealed envelope containing a higher bid in the form of a DD by 2:30 PM on July 1, 2025. The additional bid amount must be a minimum of ₹301 above the base fee; lower bids will not be considered. The auction will take place at 4:00 PM on the same day in the chamber of the Assistant RTO (New Vehicle Registration Department).
For two-wheeler owners interested in special registration numbers that remain after allocation to four-wheeler applicants, applications must be submitted on July 1, 2025, during the same office hours. In cases of multiple applicants for the same number, a list will be published on July 2, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The auction process will mirror that of the earlier round, with sealed bid submissions accepted until 2:30 PM on July 2, followed by an auction at 4:00 PM.
All DDs must be issued in favor of “Dy. RTO, Pen” from a nationalized or scheduled bank and should not be older than two months. Applicants must compulsorily attach self-attested copies of their PAN card and Aadhaar card. Only one sealed DD per applicant will be accepted. DDs older than two months or below the specified fee will be invalid.
Once reserved, a registration number cannot be changed. The reserved number must be used to register a vehicle within 180 days, failing which it will be automatically cancelled, and the fee forfeited to the government. No refunds or adjustments will be entertained under any circumstance.
Applications are being accepted in advance, but the new MH06CT series will only be activated once the current series is fully exhausted. Applicants are advised that receipts for advance payments will not be issued until the ongoing series is completed.
