International Yoga Day Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm in Raigad.

– “Yoga is Vital for Developing Concentration in Life,” Says District Collector Kishan Jawale
Emphasizing the importance of focus and discipline in daily life, District Collector Kishan Jawale said that every individual should practice yoga to maintain concentration. He was speaking at the International Yoga Day celebrations held at the spacious Badminton Hall in the Nehuli Complex, jointly organized by the District Administration and the District Sports Officer’s Office.

Present on the occasion were CEO Neha Bhosale, Deputy CEO Satyajit Bade, Secondary Education Officer Maharudra Nale, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Rahul Kadam, District Sports Officer Prakash Wagh, representatives of Mera Yuva Bharat including Amit Funde, National Youth Awardee Mrs. Tapaswi Gondhali, Sports Officers Suchita Thamale and Akash Dongre, trainers from Shri Ambika Yoga Kuti under the leadership of founder Virendra Pawar, as well as volunteers and trainees from Swayamsiddha Social Development Organization, government officials, employees, and school students.

Speaking further, District Collector Jawale recalled how India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi had highlighted the importance of yoga on a global platform during his address to the United Nations General Assembly, which later declared June 21 as International Yoga Day.
“Yoga is about attaining what seems unattainable. Through practices like pranayama, meditation, and asanas, mental focus improves and we are better able to accomplish our goals. Consistent effort within set timelines can lead to the creation of a better world. Regular yoga fosters concentration, instills discipline, and enhances overall health,” he said.

He further added, “Today’s world is filled with stress. To stay mentally and physically healthy, we must adopt yoga and regular exercise into our daily routines. Yoga is not just physical exercise—it is a holistic practice that brings mental peace, reduces stress, and improves focus. Regular yoga asanas energize the body and calm the mind.”

The yoga session began with a prayer led by yoga instructor Madhavi Pawar. Participants were guided through warm-up exercises, pranayama techniques including Nadi Shodhan and Bhramari, followed by a meditation session. Officers and staff actively participated in the session and performed various yoga asanas.
