Mediation for the Nation Campaign Launched in Raigad to Resolve Court Cases Amicably

“Disputes Divide, Dialogue Unites” – District Legal Services Urges Citizens to Choose Mediation

Raigad, July 4 – In an effort to reduce pending litigation and promote amicable settlement of disputes, the “Mediation for the Nation” campaign has officially begun across Raigad district. The initiative, launched under the directives of the Supreme Court of India and National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), is being held from July 1 to September 30, 2025, in the District Court of Raigad as well as all subordinate courts in the district.

This special drive aims to encourage resolution of family disputes, motor accident compensation cases, cheque bounce complaints, property division suits, commercial claims, and other civil and compoundable criminal matters through mutual dialogue and settlement.

Unlike conventional litigation, mediation is a voluntary, confidential, cost-effective, and time-saving mechanism. Importantly, no judgment is imposed on either party; instead, individuals work collaboratively to find common ground, preserving personal and social relationships in the process.

The campaign is being led under the guidance of Principal District and Sessions Judge Rajendra Sawant, who also serves as the Chairperson of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Raigad. The DLSA has appealed to all eligible litigants to take maximum benefit from this initiative.

Features of the Mediation Campaign:

  • Voluntary participation
  • Confidentiality ensured
  • Saves time and legal expenses
  • Resolution through mutual agreement
  • Faster than regular court proceedings

Tejaswini Nirale, Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Raigad-Alibag, has urged all parties involved in pending court cases who are open to reconciliation to immediately contact the District Court Raigad, Taluka-level courts, or the DLSA Raigad office
