District Administration Gives Top Priority to Providing Drinking Water

Collector Kishan Jawale Directs That Water Tankers Be Deployed Within 24 Hours of Request

Providing drinking water is the highest priority of the district administration Therefore wherever there is a demand for water tankers the concerned authorities must conduct inspections and ensure water supply within 24 hours said District Collector Kishan Jawale

A review meeting on the issue of water scarcity was held at the District Collector’s Office During the meeting the Collector reviewed the current situation in all talukas Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Neha Bhosale Deputy Collector Dr Ravindra Shelke Sub Divisional Officers Tehsildars and Block Development Officers attended the meeting via video conferencing

Taking into account the water shortage in parts of Raigad district the Collector stressed the need for prompt action in any village or settlement facing water scarcity He stated clearly that there should be no delay in providing drinking water and reiterated that the availability of safe water is the administration’s top priority

He directed that pending water supply schemes be completed at the earliest and that media reports regarding water shortages be taken seriously Officials must verify facts and immediately issue clarifications from the concerned departments

As water levels in reservoirs drop sources may become contaminated increasing the risk of waterborne diseases Therefore authorities must test whether the water is potable or not

He also instructed that all works under the Jal Jeevan Mission be completed urgently and that water supply should begin immediately from completed schemes Special attention must be paid to ensure that electricity connections are not disconnected due to unpaid bills in water supply projects

A detailed action plan has been prepared to address water scarcity This includes acquisition of wells and borewells repair of tap water schemes temporary supplementary schemes new borewells and water supply through tankers As of now water is being supplied to 106 hamlets and 21 villages through 25 tankers In addition permission has been granted for deepening and cleaning 17 wells said Collector Jawale

Seven Shiv Chhatrapati Awardees Declared as Youth Icons

District Collector Kishan Jawale today declared seven sportspersons from the district who have received the Shiv Chhatrapati State Sports Awards as Youth Icons

The announcement was made during a felicitation ceremony at the Collector’s Office where the athletes were honored by the Collector himself The event was attended by CEO Neha Bhosale District Information Officer Manisha Pingle Primary Education Officer Punita Gurav and District Sports Officer Prashant Wagh

On this occasion Collector Jawale said that courage bravery patience and perseverance are the defining traits of Raigad’s soil It is a matter of great pride that for the first time seven athletes from the district have been honored with the Shiv Chhatrapati Awards These players must bring further glory not just to the district and the state but to the entire nation The government is fully supportive and continues to make strategic decisions to promote sports He encouraged all athletes to make the most of these opportunities and perform at their best

Each of them was felicitated with a certificate and floral bouquet by Collector Jawale

District Sports Officer Prashant Wagh delivered the welcome address and Taluka Sports Officer Rajendra Atnur proposed the vote of thanks.
