Only Hearts, No Bills: Dr. Omprakash Shete Reviews Free Health Services in Navi Mumbai

Raigad (PR):
Dr. Omprakash Shete, Chairperson of the Ayushman Bharat Mission Maharashtra Committee, began his statewide review tour from Gadchiroli and visited key hospitals in Navi Mumbai on April 23 to assess the delivery of free healthcare services under government schemes.

Dr. Shete visited MGM Hospital (Kamothe), Kriti Care (Kamothe), Asha Hospital (Kalamboli), Millennium Hospital (Ulwe), and Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital (Kharghar), where he conducted a direct assessment of the services provided under the Ayushman Bharat and Mahatma Phule Jan Arogya Yojana schemes.

Praising hospitals that demonstrated excellence in service delivery, Dr. Shete offered special commendation for their efforts. At the same time, he issued firm instructions for immediate corrective action against institutions where service quality was found lacking.

Dr. Shete was deeply moved by the spirit of service at Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital in Kharghar—the only pediatric hospital in Maharashtra providing entirely free treatment for children with heart conditions through its “No Bill Counter.” From accommodation to surgery, every service is offered free of charge to underprivileged children from across the country.

During the visit, Dr. Shete also interacted with nursing students, emphasizing the hospital’s motto “Only Hearts, No Bills” as not just a slogan, but a powerful symbol of humanity. He proudly highlighted the vital role such institutions play in advancing healthcare access across Maharashtra.

The visit was attended by Taluka Health Officer Dr. Aparna Pawar, Panvel Municipal Health Officer Dr. Manisha Chandak, District Coordinator Dr. Kshama Palpatkar, and other officials and staff.
