Mumbai, April 25
The Government of India, in collaboration with the Government of Maharashtra, will host the “WAVES 2025 Conference” — a global gathering for the audio-visual and entertainment industries — at the Jio World Centre, BKC, Mumbai. Scheduled from May 1 to May 4, 2025, the conference will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the esteemed presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and Industries Minister Uday Samant.
The WAVES Conference is set to attract participation from over 100 countries, offering a significant boost to India’s growing creative economy. As India’s media and entertainment sectors continue to expand rapidly, the event aims to spotlight emerging opportunities in employment and entrepreneurship. Special emphasis will be given to the booming segments of OTT platforms, animation, gaming, VFX, film production, music, and digital media.
The four-day conference will feature a series of panel discussions, investment forums, and business networking events designed to foster collaboration and innovation.
On the inaugural day, the “India and Maharashtra Pavilions” along with the WAVES Exhibition will be unveiled. Key announcements and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed, marking new milestones for the industry. Additionally, the conference will witness the launch of the “Creatosphere,” along with initiatives like the “WAVES Bazaar” and “WAVES Accelerator.”
Day two will spotlight a Global Media Dialogue, a high-level interaction between Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and CEOs, and the grand finale of the “Create in India Challenges.”
The third and fourth days will be packed with thematic sessions, exhibitions, and showcases, further cementing Mumbai’s position as a global hub for media and entertainment innovation.
